Veils Panel Discussion: Three Women, Three Faiths, Three Choices to Cover

Manhattan’s Interchurch Center, home of the New York City offices of LAU, hosted a stimulating and thought-provoking panel discussion last month with three veiled women in an event that was co-sponsored by Prepare New York. Using Veil(s): a photographic overview, the exhibit of photographs originally curated by LAU’s Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World (IWSAW), as a backdrop, three women (one Christian, one Muslim, and one Jewish) engaged in an open and honest debate about why they have chosen to cover their hair and what it means to each of them.
