Official LAU Statement about the event on the Beirut campus on November 1, 2011:
LAU regrets having to suspend classes at its Beirut campus as a result of a confrontation that occurred on the afternoon of Nov. 1, 2011 in front of the campus and which evolved to the area next to the upper gate.
LAU announces that it will reconvene classes tomorrow and that it will take the necessary measures in cooperation with the general security forces to ensure the safety of its students.
