Commencement: The end of a journey
Summer is a special time of year for many reasons; it’s often the season when we take some time off to relax and explore and enjoy time with our friends and family. In fact, this summer I have the privilege of having my own family join me in
Graduation, of course, is a wonderful thing for the students and their families and friends, but it’s also a great moment for the university as well because it offers us an opportunity to take stock and see how much we’ve developed and grown over the past year. Thanks to the support and hard work of so many people throughout the LAU community over the past year our student body has swelled to more than 8,000 students, our medical students have experienced their first "white coat ceremony," our nursing school has welcomed its first class of students, and we’ve inaugurated the remarkable new
Our newly graduated students can look forward to a wealth of opportunities, and all of us at LAU are confident that this year’s class will use their education to make a good life for themselves and their families, as well as to make their communities and our world a better place. In the meantime, I’m grateful to be a part of the Advancement team, as well as a university that works so hard to make these opportunities for our students a reality, now and for future generations to come.
